Who we are
Sawabit («ثوابت») is the independent digital product studio that runs this website, sawabit.io. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Sawabit, and “the site” means sawabit.io and its pages in Arabic and English.
Our apps run on their own subdomains, such as qasemha.sawabit.io. Each app has its own privacy policy, which applies when you use that app. This policy covers only this website.
What data we collect
We collect as little as we can. The site has no accounts, no sign-up and no contact form, so it never receives anything you type into it. We collect personal data in three ways:
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address, the name shown by your email app, and anything you choose to include in your message and its attachments.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server automatically records each request it receives: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, your browser’s user-agent string and the response status. We use these logs to keep the site running, investigate errors and protect it from abuse.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We do not set any cookies of our own. Google, our advertising partner, may set and read cookies and use similar technologies (such as web beacons, device identifiers and your IP address) to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud. The advertising section below and our Cookie Policy explain this in detail.
How we use it
- To read and reply to your messages, and to follow up on any project or question you raise.
- To operate, secure and improve the site, including detecting attacks, spam and technical faults.
- To fund the site through advertising served by Google AdSense, as described below.
- To meet our legal obligations, for example when the law requires us to keep or disclose certain records.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to build profiles of you ourselves.
Why we are allowed to process it
We process personal data in line with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 and the other laws that apply to us, on these grounds:
- Your request: when you email us, we use your details to answer you and take the steps you ask for.
- Legitimate interest: server logs are needed to run a secure, working website.
- Consent: where the law requires it, advertising cookies and personalised ads are used only with your consent, which you give or refuse through Google’s consent message and can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation: when a law or a competent authority requires us to process or disclose data.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google, to display ads. Please note the following:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less related to your interests. Ads that are not personalised can still use cookies to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ad performance and to prevent fraud.
To learn how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and in other places where the law requires it, see a consent message from Google’s certified consent management platform before advertising cookies are used to personalise ads.
Who we share data with
We share personal data only with the service providers we need to run the site, and only as far as each one needs it:
- Our hosting provider, whose servers store the site and its server logs.
- Our email provider (Google), which receives and stores the emails you send us.
- Google AdSense, which collects data directly from your browser to serve ads, under Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Public authorities, when we are legally required to disclose information, or when necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Google, process data in countries outside Egypt. Where data is transferred abroad, we rely on providers that offer a level of protection consistent with Law No. 151 of 2020 and its executive regulations.
How long we keep data
- Server logs are kept for up to 14 days and then deleted automatically, unless we need a specific record for longer to investigate a security incident.
- Emails are kept for as long as we need them to handle your request, and for no more than 24 months after our last exchange, unless they become part of a contract or record that we are legally required to keep for longer.
- Advertising cookies are kept by your browser for the period Google sets for each cookie, or until you delete them. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
Under Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020, you have the right to:
- know what personal data we hold about you, and access it or obtain a copy;
- withdraw any consent you have given us;
- have your data corrected, updated, completed or erased;
- restrict how we process your data;
- be told about any breach affecting your personal data;
- object to processing, or to its results, where it conflicts with your fundamental rights and freedoms.
To use any of these rights, email us at abdallahmohameed403@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We will respond without undue delay, and in any case within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Center.
How we protect data
The whole site is served over HTTPS, access to our servers and mailbox is limited and protected by strong authentication, and we keep our software up to date. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your personal data, we will notify you and the competent authorities as the law requires.
Children
This site is intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
The site links to our apps and to other websites, such as Google’s policy pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If a change is significant, we will make it clearly visible on the site.
