What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so it can recognise your browser on a later visit or remember a choice you made. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels and web beacons, do comparable jobs. In this policy we call all of them “cookies”.
First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting. Third-party cookies are set by another company whose service that site uses, such as an advertising network.
Cookies we set
None. Sawabit does not set any cookies of its own, and the site works fully without cookies. We don’t use analytics or tracking tools at the moment. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent wherever the law requires it.
Advertising cookies from Google
We use Google AdSense to show ads on the site. Google and its partners may set and read cookies in your browser to:
- show ads, and limit how many times you see the same one;
- personalise ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites, if you have allowed it;
- measure how ads perform and report on it;
- detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
Google publishes the details of the cookies it uses, what each one does and how long it lasts in How Google uses cookies and How Google uses cookies in advertising. You can also read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your consent
Where the law requires consent, such as for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google’s certified consent management platform shows you a message before cookies are used to personalise ads. You can accept, refuse, or choose specific purposes. The platform stores your choice in a cookie so it doesn’t have to ask again on every page.
You can change your mind at any time through the privacy and cookie settings link that the consent platform adds to the page, or by clearing cookies for sawabit.io in your browser, which brings the message back on your next visit.
How to control cookies
- Personalised ads: turn them off in Google’s Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com).
- Other ad networks: opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at www.aboutads.info, or, in Europe, at www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Your browser: every major browser lets you block third-party cookies, delete cookies you already have, or browse privately. Look under Privacy or Security in its settings.
Blocking cookies doesn’t stop the site from working. You will still see ads, but they won’t be personalised.
