About Sawabit

Sawabit is an independent digital product studio. We design and build web apps for companies and people with a real problem to solve, and we build and run products of our own.

What the name means

Sawabit: Arabic for “constants”, the things that hold firm.

In Arabic, thawābit are the fixed foundations everything else stands on. In programming, a constant is a value you define once and never change while the program runs, so every other part of the code can rely on it without checking it again.

We chose the name because it describes what we want to deliver: products people depend on without thinking about it, because they work every time. That doesn’t mean a product never changes. It means its foundations are solid enough to keep building on safely.

Who we are

We are a small team of software engineers and designers who work independently and know our clients by name. Staying small is a choice: the person you talk to about your project is the same person who writes the code and sees it through launch, so details don’t get lost between layers of hand-offs.

Much of our work is for Arabic-speaking audiences, often in products that serve Arabic and international users at the same time. So Arabic is a first-class language for us in design, writing and testing, never a translation bolted on at the end.

Our mission

To build software that is simple enough to understand the first time, dependable enough to run a business on, and written well enough to keep evolving for years without a rewrite.

We believe many everyday problems don’t need a sprawling platform. They need one well-designed tool that solves the problem and then gets out of the way. That is what we try to make on every project.

What we work on

We split our time between two things. The first is client work: web apps, internal tools, mobile-first products, and rebuilding older systems that have become slow or hard to maintain. The second is our own products, such as Qasemha, which splits the bill for group food orders fairly.

Building and running our own products keeps us honest. We live with our technical decisions long after launch, we see what happens when real people use something we built in their daily lives, and we bring that experience to every client project.

How we work with you

Every project starts with a written scope that says what we will build and what we won’t, and you follow progress on real preview links instead of status reports. We tell you early when we see a risk or an unexpected cost, because late surprises are the most expensive part of any project.

At hand-over, the code, designs and documentation are entirely yours, with clear notes on how to run and deploy everything, so you can keep working with us or with any other team without being locked in.

Working on an idea?

Tell us about it in a short email: the problem, who it is for, and when you need it. We will reply with a clear next step.
